| Many people have complained about the fit. I had the same problems (bunching of fat at the top and rolling down) until I bought the next bigger size. I too had the illusion of being a small. However, the medium was really where I needed to be. Please don't expect miracles but I sure do look a lot better in my clothes with these on. |

| I really only wear them for work or special occasions but I secretly would love to wear them with EVERYTHING. The trick is to buy the correct size. If you think you need to buy smaller, in order to look smaller, you couldn't be more wrong. Seriously, I feel like I've instantly lost 10 lbs when I have them on (without the effort). They smooth my curves and support my post-pardum bulges. Most importantly, they give me the confidence I need to not feel insecure about my appearance. You can certainly find something cheaper out there, but you will end up with a far inferior product that will end up in your drawer, because if the SPANX are available you'll always reach for them first. |

| I just received my Spanx last week and was so excited to try them on. I put them on with no problem until I put on a dress and realized that there is a BIG seam in the front. Wearing a slim fitting dress is not an option unless you want to walk around and have people ask why you are hiding a shoestring under your dress. If only I had zoomed in before purchasing it. I am disappointed... |

| I have a few friends who raved about this product and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed - firstly, I was advised to buy the right size, very important to ensure proper fit and that it stays up. Well, I found there were no measurement charts here for Spanx products so i did some research and found this website called www.onehotmama.com that provides a chart for spanx products. I bought a C and it fits perfectly. I would recommend this provided you get the right size for your weight and height. |

This is much more comfortable and free-feeling than a traditional body-shaper. It smooths out the bulges (I'm a size 14-16, and there are plenty), and has never rolled down. For those who said it rolled down on them, the only thing I can think is that maybe they were wearing the wrong size, or perhaps have long torsos.
As for the gusset, I've never used it, and always wear underwear. Obviously, it takes a bit more effort to pull it down, but it's no big deal; I doubt it adds more than 15 seconds to my bathroom time.
All in all, an excellent product that has allowed me to comfortably wear figure-hugging clothes that I couldn't wear before. |

| I never use girdles even after giving birth because I just find them very uncomfortable and constricting. Yes I know that's the idea behind girdles but after a few hours and a couple of ribs aching, I wonder if it's worth the trouble. But when I tried out the spanx (thank's to a funny monologue by Ellen), I tossed my other girdles out the window and never wore anything else. It really smoothened my figure, made me look great in tight clothes yet gave me freedom to move. A word of caution though. Make sure your fingernails are filed before wearing because the material is like pantyhose material so you can snag it and create a run. But aside from that, this product is absolutely perfect. |

I purchased Higher Power by Spanx about a month or two ago and I wear it just about everyday. What I like about this product is that it doesn't really make me feel like I am wearing a girdle. It also definitely makes a difference in my appearance; I love how this product covers me from under the breasts all the way to my thighs. My problems areas are the lower stomach and inner thighs, and this product helps to smooth those areas and my pants are fitting better than ever! Also, I wore khaki pants for the 1st time in 5 years since this product helps to eliminate the appearance of cellulite. It doesn't make it go away, that's for sure, but it certainly helps smooth the lumps and bumps.
What I don't like about the product is how it fits around my bra area. This product actually makes that area look fatter since it's pushing everything up. I can't seem to find a comfortable position. I am constantly checking out my back profile in the mirror after I put on these Spanx and at times I take it off since those bra bulges look worse than before I put the Spanx on. Also, the product tends to make the "love-handle" area look fatter as well, and this is not usually a problem area for me. These two issues are major for me.
Also, the quality of the product for the price leaves a lot to be desired. From the 2nd day, the strings around the top started to fray and come loose. This material is so similar to pantyhose and it snags easily. Also, I noticed this morning that the area around the crotch is starting to come loose as well. The craftsmanship could be a lot better. Another complaint is that when I visit the ladies room, I have to pull the product down in order to use the toilet. In the product description it says something about a "cotton gusset" to make it easier, but I just feel uncomfortable not wearing some sort of underwear so only using the gusset just doesn't work for me.
Overall, I enjoy the product, but not nearly as much as I had hoped; but I definitely plan on purchasing other Spanx products in the future.

| I couldn't believe it. It is a bit tricky putting on but once on it's light and airy and gives a very smooth effect. I forgot I was wearing it!!! I'll definitely be looking at other Spanx products in the future and also need to order a duplicate of this so I can have one ready while the other is in the wash. |

I ordered this to wear for parties during the Christmas party. I had recently lost some weight and needed some added firmness in the tummy area. They worked great, and it made me slimmer and my tummy was flatter, but they roll down in the back. I wore them several times, and the back always rolled down. I had to constantly pull it back up and sometimes even had to excuse myself to the bathroom to re-adjust it.

The product delivered as it promised. Didn't ride up, didn't roll down. Not even when I had to bend over and pick up my 1 yr old baby dozens of times throughout the day!
My tummy was FLAT (ppl thought I had lost weight!) instead of my usual flabby post-birth figure and even my thighs were "held in". I've been used to feeling my chubby thighs rubbing against each other while I walk, but this product made sure that didn't happen anymore. I felt quite weird for the first couple of hours while wearing it! :D
Of course, no product is perfect and this one has its flaws as well:
1) The thick seam running down the front and back would show through thin fabrics, but since you've already been warned about it in product descriptions/SPANX website, I guess it's expected.
2) Mine has been worn twice, and the seams are showing loose threads already. I believe I had possibly snagged them with my long nails, but it could be made to be a bit hardier. Afterall, most women have nails!
3) The gusset is convenient for toilet trips, but makes it really weird if you're wearing jeans over your SPANX. The seams of my jeans would push thru the gusset and cause some strange sensations "down there". Not to mention it's slightly uncomfortable and made me feel like tugging on my jeans in the crotch area.
4) It takes practice to avoid peeing on your own fingers while you hold the gusset open for toilet trips. I think you might need to remove the entire SPANX if you would need to take a No.2. :p
They should make this EXACT product but with normal panty instead of mid-thigh length so that we can all wear them under mini-dresses! Overall, I am still very satisfied with the price I paid, and the 2 inches it made me "lose"!

I've been wearing spanx for more than 4 years and I can tell you some of my pros and cons.
PROS
It does keep everything together and gives you this smooth shape appearance.
It is perfect under dresses and thick material pants.
If you handwash it one will last you a long time. I wear mines everyday.
CONS
You cannot wear them under dresses that are too short or about the same length because once you sit down it will show.
It is not seamless under every fabric, it will still show under tight fit pants. I have to keep pulling mine down when I go to the bathroom because that seam just shows.
Don't buy a size smaller it will be a disaster.
It flattens everything the first few times you wear it but after that you better exercise to keep things flat. You might end up buying a lot of those and they are never on sale.
The part between your leg does irritate because it is open and if you wear it with pants you have fabric rubbing against your private part which can be very uncomfortable. The idea is that you use the bathroom without pulling down the whole thing which can be quite a workout.
This product is better under a dress that is longer. One last thing you cannot do it with serious cleavage. |

| I bought this product haven read somewhere that Tyra Banks has like fifty of these and since I like her I decided to try this brand. I have about 40 extra lbs. from having my first baby...over a year ago, so with summer coming I needeed something to flatten my stomach and minimize my rolls. I have used other brands of shapewear and I was always disappointed with them. They would be uncomfortable. They would roll down after while(especially when sitting down)or I would have to keep pulling them up. I would always end up cutting the shapewear somewhere to try to make it fit and feeel better. I would wear it once and feel bad about cutting it up so I would put it away and forget how miserable it made me feel. When it came time to have a need for shapewear again I would try it on again and remember all over again what a waste it was and end up tossing it. I would go and buy some other brand and start the process again. BUT, then there was SPANX! I tried then on as soon as they came. My first thought was there were comfortable. Second thought, they smoothed me out very nicely. Thrid, they were long enough to reach all the way to your bra with room to stretch. But the real test came with time. Lets just say I ended up taking them to Myrtle Beach and wore them in hot weather and never had to fix my rolls. They were wonderful! They will never roll down or ake you feel uncomfortable. I highly suggest you order at least two because you WILL wear them all the time. |

| I purchased this item after seeing Spanx on multiple TV shows. They made my pants fit better and I didn't need to suck in my tummy, because it really did hold the belly bulge in for me. However, the "double-gusset" (opening crotch) is a problem. 1.It doesn't stay closed unless you keep your knees together. (Don't wear it under a dress and cross your legs unless you're trying to recreate a certain movie scene.) 2.It caused extreme crotch irritation. IT FELT LIKE I WAS WEARING A THONG BACKWARDS, BECAUSE THE FLAPS OF THE "DOUBLE-GUSSET" KEPT FINDING THEIR WAY BETWEEN MY LABIA. Ouch! I normally walk home from work, but the day I wore this garment, I had to take a taxi home. That's how irritated my crotch was. It was an extremely unpleasant sensation that I have never before experienced. Relief was immediate after tearing this thing off and tossing it in the trash. I would rather have a little belly bulge than an irritated crotch any day! |

I am 5'2', 135 pounds. The sales girl said that I should go with size B because I am 10 pounds over the limit for size A. I've read other reviews and the truth seems to be that if you are on the short side of the spectrum these things are just too long for your torso. The top part of these go up over my bust as opposed to hitting right below my bra line. I tried rolling the top over right under my bra line to eliminate the excess but that didn't work at all and just gave me a pudge of backfat. The front seam also puckered because the length was just too long for my torso.
Also, they don't really make you skinnier, they just smooth you out. Yes, your line is better, but you aren't all that much thinner. I've heard of celebrities wearing more than one pair at a time to suck them in but I doubt it works, the B size was plenty tight and it didn't take even an inch off of my waste.
They need to make a petite version of these, until then, if you are under 5'4" strongly consider getting a different style or something else.

It smooths, it shapes, it flattens - I really did look like I'd lost inches in the mid-section and spent a chunk of time toning..... BUT it did not stay put, as advertised. I did get the right size and it was fairly comfortable, as long as I didn't move around or stretch or bend too much. It rolled down and started to irritate. I actually sewed a piece of elastic and a snap to the front and my bra held it in place there, but the back kept doing the same thing. The body of the panty also laddered (ran) when I first put it on. The product *is* sturdier than pantyhose, but I was surprised at how easily this happened. Overall, disappointing. I will probably try again, perhaps sewing holder straps in the back, but I'm afraid this product did not perform as advertised for me.
Also, despite the fact that there is a "vent" so you can pee without disrobing entirely, I found that experience disconcerting! My body wanted to pee but my brain was convinved I was still wearing undies. Not the product's fault, but an amusing side effect to consider. :D |

I've tried a lot of shapewear over the years, and this is, by far, THE most effective AND comfortable I've ever worn.
If you buy the right size, it doesn't roll or ride up, nips you in, and gives you a smooth silhouette. It's soooo comfortable you actually forget you have it on, and I can say that has NEVER happened with any other shapewear.
It used to be I couldn't wait to get home and rip it off! Not so with Spanx. Great product. |

| I am a typical pear shaped, somewhat pudgy, middle-age woman (size 12 on bottom, 6 on top!) I have tried other products like the high-waisted Spanx power panty and was not satisfied so I was skeptical about this one. I am very happy with it. Yes, it was interesting, and somewhat challenging to put on the first time, but it stayed up all day, and I actually was quite comfortable wearing for a full workday. With the others I tried, I was constantly feeling like I had to pull up the back and they made my thighs look like sausage links. I wore this one under pants and the thighs were very smooth. I didn't feel squeezed in the middle and again, I was comfortable for a full 10 hrs. of wear. I would recommend this undergarment. |

The sales consultant asked me a few questions and advised me that the SPANX Higher Power High-Waisted Mid-Thigh Shaper would fit my needs. I had concerns that these would roll down or not be comfortable. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did the shaper smooth out some areas I've been working on through exercise, but it also stayed in place. Since that evening I have worn SPANX almost daily. I wash it in cold water and I allow it to air dry. Simply put - this shaper really works to smooth out problem areas. |

| I've now tried four Spanx products -- the high-waisted mid-thigh shaper, the power panty, the hide & sleek camisole, and the cross-over hide & sleek camisole. The high-waisted mid-thigh shaper is by FAR the best of the bunch. Although it doesn't make me look significnatly slimmer, it does remove the bulges from slightly too tight pants, giving me a more streamlined shape. The fabric is comfortable, and overall it would be perfect except for the extremely-annoying seam right down the center of the front! With the seam, I cannot wear it with more body-hugging fabric shirts, which is when I need this the most. Please make this product without the seam!! |

| I think when I bought these I was looking to buy a size B but I read reviews about how everyone had to return & order the next size up so I just did the latter first. I bought a C instead of a B, it's a snug fit at first but looks great and is pretty easy to get on. Kinda tricky at first but it works. The ONLY thing I HATE about these Spanx is that the first day you wear them they probably won't roll down but every day AFTER they will && it's kinda noticeable. However, I just apply some tape to both sides and problem solved. So glad I purchased these && I would LOVE more!. |

| I got this to wear under my wedding dress, which was a silk sheath. Unfortunately when I ordered it, I did not realize that there would be a huge seam running right up the middle of the panties. It was very visible through the silk so I was unable to wear it. It is a very good product though, it works great for tucking in problem areas, but I wouldn't recommend wearing it with light fabrics. |

| I LOVE these! They really do work to slim down the body. I still have a lot of baby weight around my tummy area and it makes me look and feel slim! This is my second pair! I wore the last ones until they were worn out! The only thing I don't like is the fact that the seem goes right down the front of your stomache and the middle of your back. I always wonder why they didn't put it down the sides?? If you wear a fitted shirt, you can see the lines, since they are really thick. Thats the only down side though! |

| I tried this on and it was actually pretty comfortable (no breath-sucking). But there was a big, raised seam right down the middle of the waist which made them totally unwearable. The whole point of the high-waisted spanx is to smooth out your waist so that you can wear a tighter dress, right? Yet, when I tried the dress on, you could see the seam. Very irritating. |

I wish someone would invent a product like spanx that did not roll down when you sit down! How annoying. I think so many women have this problem with panty hose and panty girdle type hosiery. The waist can be very snug which means you get a bulge above it and when you sit, it instantly rolls down created a larger roll.

| I purchased this item, and chose a size (medium) that, according to manufacturer sizing charts, was supposed to fit. My understanding about garments is that if they ride up or curl down, they're too small. Spanx' error in this regard is really inexcusable, given the price of their items. I can't recommend this item, even if you were to buy a larger size than you think you need, because I don't know if that would prevent the rolling problem. I have found that even wearing a Spanx camisole underneath or over is no guarantee--in fact, the top of the pants rolled DOWN even while the camisole was rolling UP! |

I bought SPANX hoping for a product that would smooth me out. They seemed promising at first, but then I realized, they aren't long enough for taller girls. I'm 6' tall, and have had the darndest time getting them all the way up and keeping them there. They do roll down, and frankly, that's more embarassing than having a bulge I hate sticking out.
I bought two pairs, I'm going to return one pair for a larger size, but for the ones I wore, they're going in the trash.
Also, I don't know who can manage to use the toilet with these things on, but count me as one of the people who cannot! |

| Yes, it is a very good product. Works just as it was meant to do. Does not ride DOWN from top, but legs did ride up. (roll up). . .guess the Spanx with the little half-leg nylons hanging from them are more well suited to my pear-shaped figure. However even those I wish were stronger, the legs INSTANTLY had runners in them. . .but at least, runners and all, they kept the spanx from riding up. |

| I went in to Lane Bryant and picked up a pair of these. The ladies there seemed very helpful in talking me into them and the best way to get them on/off along with advice for keeping them up (tuck the top under your bra). However (even while looking at me) they didn't warn me that they are NOT big booty and thigh friendly. I'm 5'10" and weigh about 200 lbs - which makes me a solid D according to the size chart - but most of my weight is in my big butt and thick thighs. I couldn't even get them up past mid-thigh. No slimming + wated money = very disappionted. |

Comfortable, but be sure you buy a slightly larger than you normally wear. ie: if you wear a L, buy a xl so you have room to wiggle your way in.
Dont get stuck on a number...just buy larger, and you wont be surprised.
Its an excellent product to wear under those pants that need a little LIFT and you want to look all put together in the middle as well. Great for those of us who are dieting, and need an ego boost as we go along. I love them. |
